Lavender For International Women’s Day

What can you send the most vibrant and influential women in your life on International Women’s Day, which falls on March 8 this year? We here at Neubauer’s Flowers are going to suggest that you send something that captures the spirit of this day dedicated to honoring the achievements of women.

We’ve been celebrating IWD since 1909. Today, over 100 countries around the world participate, each with their own themes for that year as well as gift-giving traditions. In Italy, they exchange yellow mimosa flowers, for instance, and in Russia, every woman gets flowers (it’s one of the biggest floral gifting days of the year). Here, flowers are also exchanged, but there’s no real standard as to what you should give. But there are three colors associated with IWD, and the first, purple, is majestic in a flower design. It’s a color long-associated with the suffragettes, but it also symbolizes loyalty. Which is why we like our Luv N’ Lavender for an IWD gift.

The touches of lavender here are combined with rosy daisies and the pinkest roses in a wild, free-form spray of flowers. There’s a sense of abundance and plenty, as if this was taken directly from the garden or from a patch of wildflowers. Give something full of life and lavender to the women who have had the most impact in your life this March 8.
