Giving Your Best Friends Flowers For Galentine’s Day

Galentine’s Day is one of the greatest fictional holidays to ever be imported from the small screen to real life. The idea arose from a 2010 episode of Parks and Recreation, which saw main character Leslie Knope take all of her ladies out for lunch and proclaim February 13th Galentine’s Day, “only the best day of the year.”

We here at Neubauer’s Flowers love the idea of a day devoted entirely to celebrating female friendships and also the opportunity to create new traditions and rituals around it.

In the Parks and Recreation version, Galentine’s involves gift-giving. One of the best gifts you can give your ladies, we think, is flowers. But not just any flowers, since your besties will be getting plenty of long-stemmed roses the next day. Instead, opt for something more lighthearted in a rainbow of hues like our Bright Days Ahead Bouquet.

A chipper bunch of the prettiest flowers is one of the best ways to communicate your affection in general, but in this case, you’re also expressing how happy the friendship makes you. We think Galentine’s flowers are a thank you and an acknowledgment, but in their abundance and color, they’re also a reflection of the friendship itself. So send your bestie some for Galentine’s Day this year and make the friend romance real.
